In 1969, the year Sha Na Na was formed, Solly was living in Camden County, New Jersey. He was a bad guy back then, and an even worse drunk. Those two sides came together on the evening of July 25, 1969, three weeks before Woodstock, when, in a drunken rage, he beat his girlfriend's son to death. Solly was twenty-three.
