After having played this horn with its original G1 neck for a while I then upgraded it to the new V1 neck and it was a massive improvement. I always thought that selmers were the best saxophones but my Yamaha Custom-z has made me wonder. I started out on a YTS-52 tenor which i played for years. when I was a sophomore in high school, my parents bought me a silver-plated Selmer series III alto, then early my junior year I got a silver-plated selmer series III soprano.

I emailed Yamaha about the differences between the 62III and the 82zII and got the response "The YAS-62III and YAS-82ZII do in fact has the same bore shape/taper.
