The reason is that Naruto actually failed the graduation exam twice, and then team 7 was formed, they went on several Drank and C rank missions, they also went to the land of waves a B rank mission where they fight Zabuza Momochi, and then they took part in the Chunin exams.

Kuruma explains how this could result in death, however, Naruto decides to go with it. It was after the release of this chapter, people began to think that Naruto's death is certain. However, when the fight ends, kuruma reveals how he had tricked Naruto. The cost of using Baryon mode was not the life of Naruto but the life of kuruma.

Don't worry though as others chapters will be around four to five thousand words each. I know that the beginning is a little slow but this chapter was supposed to show just what goes on in Naruto's head. The story will pick up after this so please tell me what you think.

Naruto and the main character Asta in Black Clover are similar in some ways. I really liked both shows but some people dislike Black Clover simply because Asta is more on the loud side. If you can get over the loudness of Asta then I guarantee you'll seriously enjoy the show. Black Clover is a show about a world of magic.
