In this day and age, Dave could have been tweaked and auto-tuned and the album could have been made to sound near-perfect. Van Halen didn't do that. This is who they are and this is how they sound.

Van Halen has made a TRUE live album. Love 'em or hate 'em, THIS is how Van Halen sounds live in the present day. What you hear is really what you get. In this day and age, Dave could have been tweaked and auto-tuned and the album could have been made to sound near-perfect. Van Halen didn't do that. This is who they are and this is how they sound.

On March 31, Van Halen released Tokyo Dome Live in Concert, a two-disc package containing all 25 songs that the band performed during their concert at Japan's Tokyo Dome on June 21, 2013. Featuring nearly two hours of material, the album includes songs from all of Van Halen's first six albums as well as three songs from their 2012 studio effort, A Different Kind of Truth.

It was on this hot "Summer Night" in 1986 that Van Halen performed in New Haven, Connecticut for what would become the band's first-ever commercially released concert - "Live Without A Net". This was the second of two consecutive nights Van Halen performed in New Haven before 12,000 crazy, flipped out 5150s at the now-defunct Veterans Memorial Coliseum, which officially closed in 2002.

After listening to this concert for only a few minutes, two things become abundantly clear: Eddie Van Halen is still in his prime, and David Lee Roth is well past his. From a pure music stand point, this sounds like classic Van Halen. Eddie's guitar skills are still amazing, and Alex's drumming sounds the same as it always has.
